Privacy & cookies.

We run a beach bar, not a data business. This page says plainly what this website collects, what it doesn't, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

Aqua Loca is a beach bar at Agios Vasilios beach, Aegina 180 10, Saronic Gulf, Greece, run by its owners, George and Anna. They are the people responsible for this website and for any personal data it handles. The quickest way to reach them about anything on this page is a direct message on Instagram, or a word at the bar.

The short version

— There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter and no booking forms on this site. Nothing here asks you to type anything.

— We don't sell or share your data with anyone for marketing, and we don't run advertising or profiling trackers.

— We do use Google Analytics to count visits, and it sets cookies in your browser.

— Two things on the site are loaded from Google's servers as you browse: our analytics and our fonts.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, connected through the Google Site Kit plugin, to count visits and see which pages help people find the beach. It sets cookies in your browser — the ones whose names begin with _ga — which tell one visitor apart from another and expire after up to two years.

We look at totals: which pages get read, roughly where people arrive from, how many came at all. We do not try to identify individual visitors, and nothing from it is used for advertising.

If you'd rather not be counted, your browser's tracking protection or any ad blocker will stop it, and clearing this site's cookies removes whatever is already stored.

Fonts loaded from Google

The site's typefaces — Playfair Display and Figtree — are requested from Google Fonts when a page loads. That request tells Google your IP address and which page you are looking at, the same as visiting any Google-hosted file. Google's own privacy terms cover what they do with it.

Server logs

Like every website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string. These exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you, and we don't combine them with anything else.

Links to other companies

— Google Maps: the "get directions" buttons are ordinary links. Nothing from Maps is embedded in the page, so nothing loads from them until you choose to click through. Once you do, you are on Google's site under Google's privacy policy.

— Instagram: likewise a plain link to our profile.

Reviews quoted on this site

The reviews page quotes reviews that guests published publicly on our Google listing, with the display name they chose to publish there. We didn't collect them; we're repeating what is already public. If you wrote one and would rather it wasn't shown here, tell us and we'll take it down.

Photos of the beach

The photographs on the site show the beach and the bar. If you are recognisable in one and would rather not be, message us and we'll remove or replace it.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask for a copy. Given how little this site collects, the honest answer is usually "nothing beyond hosting logs and anonymous visit counts" — but ask anyway and we will tell you. If you think we have handled something badly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).

Children

The site is aimed at people planning a day at the beach. It isn't directed at children and collects nothing from them.

Changes

If what the site does changes — a booking form, a different measurement tool, a newsletter — this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
