The things guests keep coming back for — the ones that show up again and again in what people tell us on the beach and write about us afterwards.
The short list
01
Agios Vasilios faces west, across the water to the Peloponnese. Half the island's famous beaches are looking the wrong way at eight in the evening. Ours isn't.
02
Mostly sand — a few small pebbles further in — with sunbeds and straw umbrellas where you want them, and clear shallow water that stays flat. Easy with small kids, easy with a book.
03
Yours is welcome on the sand and under the umbrella. Nobody will look at you sideways, so bring your four-legged friend with you, and don't forget to ask the staff for a bowl of water!
04
Chill music, all day — beachy and low enough to talk over. This is a beach bar, not a club: people come here to hear the sea between the songs.
05
The reason most people write about us at all. The owners are here every day, they remember your order and your kids' names, and they'd rather look after fifteen tables properly than fifty badly.
06
Fast boat from Piraeus, ten minutes down the coast road, and you're in the water. Coffee, swim, lunch, drinks, sunset — one umbrella, one whole day, no moving the car.
Next door
If you'd rather not spend the whole day horizontal, Aegina Watersports operates on the same stretch of sand, immediately next to us — a separate business, with its own prices and arrangements.
Not the only beach on Aegina
If you're coming from Aegina Town, Marathonas — about 4km from the port — is a great match for you if you are looking for a restaurant. Souvala, up on the north coast, has warm, spring-fed water people swim in even outside peak summer. Agios Vasilios trades a bit of that convenience for quiet: it's on the road out toward Perdika, mostly sand with a few small pebbles further in, calm clear water, and a lot fewer people — plus it's the one facing west, so it's the one with the sunset.
Who it's for
Couples with a book each. Families who need shallow water and a shaded table. Athenians escaping for an afternoon. Dogs. Anyone who thinks a good day peaks at a cold glass and a flat sea.
